Nerikomi Plate/Bowl Workshop
Make a functional piece of art!
In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to create a bowl or plate from a slab of clay using various molds to shape on. Participants will then get to add layers of 2-3 different colored clays to the surface of their piece to create any pattern or effect they want. This will create a varied surface with different clay tones. We will also discuss different ways to layer clay to create striped effects, how to attach clay together to create more depth in the piece, as well as how to add texture if that is desired. Students can make up to two pieces in this workshop! (one small plate and small bowl set is possible, or one larger piece is possible - students will be working with one sheet of clay each to layer onto.) All work will be glazed in a food safe clear glaze to show off the colors of the various clays used! An email will be sent out letting students know that their work is ready for pick-up 3-4 weeks after the date of the workshop.
Cancellation Policy
Classes/workshops are 100% refundable up to 2 weeks before the start date. Classes/workshops are 50% refundable up to 1 week before the start date. After that, it is non-refundable. We reserve the right to cancel a class/workshop due to low enrollment or for other necessary reasons.
